Anons, do you hear a voice in your head when you read?
I always thought this was normal, but apparently there are people who don't.
I think I might go insane.

Yes, it's called subvocalisation. I can get rid of it to some extent but it always comes back. I think it's better anyway; how else would you enjoy great prose?

YES, IT IS THE MONOLOGIC VOICE OF ONE'S CONSCIOUSNESS.

>>13203926

SUBVOCALIZATION IS ONE'S OWN WHISPERING VOICE, NOT THE VOICE OF CONSCIOUSNESS.

Just read faster

The only time I ever hear a voice is when I read the Edwin Arnold version of the Bhagavad Gita because I can only hear Bruce Myers as Krishna.

Butterfly is so unbelievably cute that I made her realize how unbelievably cute she was and she got embarrassed and left. :3

Consciousness is silent.

What's it called when you move your lips but no sound comes out? Helps me digest books better than internal voice. People accused me of being schizophrenic when I subvocalized thoughts, so I tried to keep that away.

Yes and also a voice telling me what to write which I think is whatever the idea is put into language. So, I just read back that sentence and it's what the voice told me to write because it rings true to the idea or thought that I intended to respond with so there you are.

CONSCIOUSNESS IS NEVER SILENT; CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE PERPETUAL NARRATOR INSIDE ONE'S MIND —THE INCESSANT SIBILATION; THE PSYKHIC SIBYL; THE VOICE OF SOFIA.

IF THERE IS NO VERBAL STREAM RUNNING IN YOUR MIND, YOU ARE NONCONSCIOUS.

Umm yeah, you mean some people don't? Wtf

It's usually in my voice, but if I think about it I can change it to make my inner voice sound like a friend or actor is narrating... but there is never NO voice

Only if you wait for it. Read faster than the voice and it will likely fade into the background.
