Why is stoicism so painfully popular these days? I can't step a foot in my uni these days without every single beta blabbering on how he's a stoic. If I ever want to talk about books focused on philosophy, everyone only focuses on stoicism. It wasn't the case 2-3 years ago.

This is why I believe it's the perfect slave and liberal way of thinking. Probably why it had such a huge resurgence recently. I guess the various elections and whatnot forced some people to go full cope and shut off themselves.

You literally have this on the pic. It's the same reason everyone and their mother were some flavor of buddhist in the 60-80s. Stoicism and buddhism let you easily mitigate the impact of the everchanging world on you by stating that you are the center, letting you playfully dismiss both negative and positive outcomes.

Youtubers/bloggers/insert-category-of-hacks-of-personal-choice selling it as 'old and proven self-help' to troubled teens.
The stoicism that most people say they adhere to is a bastardisation btw.

Stoicism + Christianity is an awesome combo though.
