Is this the 'literary lifestyle' I've been hearing so much about?

I memed to watch Naked Lunch(1991), Naked(1993), Synecdoche, New York (2008), Inherent Vice(2014) as a "/lit/ movie". None of these are /lit/, yet claimed as /lit/ by /lit/. So yes, they are unironically /lit/.

I'm nowhere near as degenerate and don't come from a broken home or associate with the dregs of society, but yes I do think of myself somewhat like Johnny. I work jump from one shitty job to another, travel around, drink too much, dabble in drugs, have casual girlfriends and obsessively read, and write a little too. I like to think of my self as the disfranchised genius indulging in what he can get from the depressive postmodern world.

Even if not /lit/, Naked feels like one of those starving-artist/meandering protagonists that are so hard to come by in movies for some reason, and I really appreciated it for that.

You're closer to Bukowski than him, then.

how is naked not /lit/? johnny is insufferable, makes constant references to classics, including the greeks™, and /x/ish obscure shit like nostradamus, conspiracies and the bible. He is also extremely cynical, ""blackpilled"" and feels the need to shit on everybody else.
He is /lit/ personified.

Don't forget about stumbling onto the street and screaming at the void in despair. Quintessentially /lit/ activity
