Sup /lit/, visiting from /tg/ and my first time posting here so I hope you don't let me down. Does anyone know any good star wars books, preferably ones that take place during the empire that deal with stormtroopers.

Maybe you want to try something a little more fulfilling like reading the ingredients off a box of cereal

I need star wars novels because I'm debating with my friend on whether stormtroopers or imperial guardsmen are better.

I need novels so I can cite sources supporting the claims I make in regards to storm troopers sucking.I'm not asking so I can read that shit for my pleasure but because I need it so I don't sound like an ignorant jackass.

Hmm that's the essay about color if I recall.

Anyway the only thing that comes to my mind is a story about a guy who invents a time machine, but discovers, like in many sci-fi stories, time is immutable. Whatever you do in the past is always consistent with the history you remember. Ultimately he decides that this gives him moral license to do whatever he wants. So he travels through time doing horrible things, but since he couldn't not do them its fine.

Ultimately, after causing hitler to hate jews by dressing up and assaulting/humiliating him as a young man, and starting the seven years war or something. He goes back in time and meets Mary. Uses his fancy technology to claim to be an angel of the lord, and say she will bear a child though she will not have laid with any mortal man. What Mary didn't know is that you can perform in vitro fertilization.

You're asking a question because you want to win an argument in Star Wars. Not even to have rational discourse, not even to extend your knowledge of Star Wars, but just to *win* an argument. I have no problem with the autistic, and I would never judge them poorly for their condition, so I'll leave that off the table.

Assuming you do not have some sort of serious mental or emotional condition, then what you are doing is basically the highest order of nerdy-fixation-for-the-sake-of-it and therefore, what you are doing is terrible. I'm not going to go any further than that, but I'm not going to say any less than that. Just going to put it out there. This is a terrible reason, and it's worse than nothing. Reading is good when the person is engaging in it for good reasons. Reading is terrible when the reason is terrible. Therefore, giving you a suggestion is terrible, because the more accurately and efficiently you achieve your goal, the worse off the moral universe is.

Hi, I want to apologize on behalf of /lit/. I'm the guy who wrote many of the posts attacking your tastes, and it really was unbecoming of me to personally attack you. Whatever you like and prefer is alright with me. I don't mean to discourage your future posts in /lit/, and I by no means wish to suggest that I am in any way above you.

All I wanted to do was point out (and I stand by this) that your question isn't really in line with the moral universe of a rational, empathetic being.

Your image collection is extensive and funny (at some of the macros, I laughed so hard) and these images (the macros to which I refer) were poignant and considerate of context. Surely you will add value to this board. It's unfortunate if it ends like this, but you know, a man has to keep on walking.

Man lit is up its own arse.
I read literature, I've written on Shakespeare at length, own first editions of books by George Bernard Shaw and Thomas Hardy and am at least familiar with most of the classics.

I have also read a number of Star Wars books (specifically the short story collections, eg. Tales from Jabba's Palace etc) and thoroughly enjoyed them.

Sorry OP, I've not read any in which storm troopers figured massively. I hope you find some and I'm genuinely sorry these turd burgling fascists act how they do.

/lit/ - if we don't like it, it's not literature

This is exactly what this board is like OP.
It seems the only reason to come to /lit/ is to troll or be an elitist asshole.

Also, I haven't read any Star Wars books, so I can't really help you.
Sorry.
