Nietzsche - how the fuck do I get into him? Was thinking of getting Cambridge version of Birth of Tragedy, but should I just go back even further to From My Life?

Someone should ban people from posting threads about Nietzsche, Evola and Peterson on /lit/

>> No.13132202

>>13132180
Why? /lit/ used to love Nietzsche and Evola, usually always hated Peterson though. It's been some 6 months since I came here regularly so if things are different, for the worse, then I am disappointed

It's not because they're bad but because people spam /lit/ with threads about them. We do not need three threads that simultaneously deal with Nietzsche.

Don't pretend you're not a newfag, you fucking faggot.
We have those same threads about Nietzsche every single day.
Why don't you use /lit/'s archive once in a while?

>> No.13132261

>>13132209
If you search Nietzsche in the catalog, mine is the only thread that comes up. Maybe if people could know how to name a proper fucking thread this wouldn't happen.

I've been here since 2015, I just got out of the fucking mental hospital you fuckwad. Go jump in front of a train you pseud faggot

is it possible to understand Nietzche if you don't lift?

>> No.13132332

The fact you're comparing the two means you don't understand at least one.

>> No.13132383

I’ve tried to read Nietzsche in German. It’s nice prose but tbqh I have no clue most of the time what the underlying philosophy is except for cliches like “God is dead” and even that is misunderstood by many from what I know

Stop making a fuss and just read him. You don't have to become a scholar and go that far back to do that. If you want some place to start, consider The Portable Nietzsche.

Don't read Nietzsche until you've read a fuckton of philosophy because you're not going to understand him if you don't.

Like, you'll hear him say "Become who you are!" and you'll think hes just telling you the obvoius interpretation that hes just saying to become God or something like that but he's really saying BECOME who you ARE. As in, being and becoming. The only way TO BE(standing still) in this flux of becoming is to BECOME eternally in a circle. Eternal Recurrence. Being actual.

BECOME who you ARE
Whoa

It is actually sad that philosophy became such a clusterfuck that someone had to tell people to stop thinking and start living.
