Hello, /lit/.
It's /mu/ here, and we were just wondering if you guys have some sort of literary equivelent to our In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.
Or at least a list of books that come under the "god tier" category.
Also, do you have an equivelent to pitchfork when it comes to book reviews?
Thanks a lot.
Your friends next door.

Some one comes here with a question and gets only troll posts stay classy /lit/
Also no we don't have any specific book that is as prominent here as ITAOTS but if you look around awhile you may get a general consensus.

BrokeNCYDE would be our equivelent of twighlight I do believe.

We don't have an ITAOTS equivalent, because nobody on here genuinely likes Ayn Rand. Her books have no literary merit and objectivism is gay, pure and simple. Everyone here probs has shit taste in music or hasn't listened to ITAOTS and so don't realise it's actually an excellent album, they're probably under the impression ITAOTS spam is pure trolling rather than a kind of affectionate meme. Ayn Rand is pure trolling.

The only correct answer is Gravity's Rainbow, it's a love/hate thing as well.
Also, Pynchon and Mangum are both recluses, so there's a bit of a trend.

Just in case you didn't realize this, Adult Z is trolling. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is apparently an album by the band Neutral Milk Hotel. This band is /mu/'s equivalent of Twilight. Obviously, we /lit/erati don't listen to faggy indie music so we wouldn't recognize this. He's getting his rocks off as we respond to his post not realizing this.

>> No.1312925

Just in case you're fucking retarded (which you are), NMH is hardly /mu/'s twilight.

ITAOTS is a good album, and genuinely enjoyed by lots on /mu/. It just became a running gag because it's quirky and easy to make fun of.

Actually, this isn't the case at all. ITAOTS is a joke precisely because it's so well-regarded. It's not even a hipster album, really. He just uses traditional instruments and fuzzed-out recording/production at parts, but I'm going off on a tangent here.

The point is that ITAOTS is /mu/s standard against which all other good albums are measured. Listening to it at least once, if not many many times over, is obligatory.

And Kanye's album, though more divisive, is actually very well-liked.

Neither is comparable to the "lol twilite is bad" trope that you guys use.

Actually, this isn't the case at all. Atlas Shrugged is a joke precisely because it's so well-regarded. It's not even a hipster novel, really. She just uses traditional philosophies and fuzzed-out metaphors/allusions at parts, but I'm going off on a tangent here.

The point is that Atlas Shrugged is /lit/s standard against which all other good novels are measured. Reading it at least once, if not many many times over, is obligatory.

>> No.1313241

Everyone on here is such a rugged hyper individualist that we can't agree on which book is the greatest of all time used as a standard or measurement against all other books. There's no easy "buzz lit' gathering website like pitchfork and other blogs, you have to do your own homework and trudge through shit to find gems when it comes to literature. Sorry, bro.

lol. Ayn Rand was a pompous, clueless, dumb bitch, and Atlas Shrugged is one of the most overrated novels of all time.

You only like her stuff because you're an upper middle class white american teenager/twenty-something and you think reading her looney anarcho-capitalist psychobabble makes you "edgy" and "different". In the future Rand will be looked back on as one of the biggest shit-peddling writers of all time.
