/lit/, how do you feel about people who grossly misinterpret literature and read it superficially like pic related? On the one hand, there's a possibility that they'll keep reading and eventually learn how to do it properly, but on the other hand, they're a cancer to the already waning efficacy of literature in the 21st century.

Most people are pragmatic about their reading, they take what is useful to them from it, does not matter if it is superficial or "wrong." Personally I find it far less offensive than removing all subjectivity from reading for the sake of a "correct" objective interpretation.
