Good, dense prose from an engineer turned philosopher. The Man Without Qualities is great, and Törless is almost as good (and much quicker if you want to sample him before committing to his magnum opus).

Maybe I'm a brainlet but this book made me realize how much the problems and ideas we're obsessing over in 2019 were already being thoroughly wrestled with way back in 1900--and with much more skill, nuance and rigor as well I might add. I've only read vol 1 of 3 so far. The older translation is far better from what I could tell. Throuroughly enjoyed it and eager to start 2 soon.
