Why do I get mad when people talk shit about ""my""" country?

I was more thinking about one's deep rooted feelings about one's birthplace, his highly specific community (which isn't the state) which are unconsciously projected onto a grander scale (which again isn't the state, the idea of a common Italian history and civilization existed centuries before the Italian state was actually created, to make an example) hence creating the "imagined community". I don't how or where you saw me referencing the state, but I was thinking about something completely different, albeit tangential. Putting this aside, these pavlovian mechanisms that you see operating in me sure sound like your typical case of emotional projection, this actually being the only real animalistic process at work between the two of us.
