Why do I feel like philosophy peaked around a thousand years ago and everything since as just been an over examination that has resulted in this pervading sense of nihilism throughout modern civilisation?
Is there a name for this?

To better explain what I mean:
I feel like we've delved so far into the pursuit of truth and meaning of life that we've literally rationalised out our own existence
What kind of biological creature would logically conclude that its existence is meaningless? It just blows my mind.

What do you mean by meaning? If you mean that ‘meaning’ or purpose precedes human existence and that human existence fulfils it, this is a metaphysical claim that is easy to rationally either accept or reject.

Your own speculations and feelings of disenchantment with the present are intensely modern themselves

I'm not telling you my own feelings I'm describing what others feel and how stupid it sounds when you step back and look at it for what it is. People have thought so long and hard about their existence that they have refuted their own existence.
What other meaning could it mean anon? Thats the whole point of my post. Why would you NOT accept that?

Keep up with modern french philosophers, they are still making huge leads and are not obsessed with the image of capital

If you want I'll throw you a bone; Check out Jacques Renciere

Because one might not believe it’s true? Retard. Seems like you should read the ancients again and learn the value of Veritas.

Again you're completely missing the point I'm making

It’s half-baked. Thinking about in the broadest most detached way is interesting poetry but all the details you’re asking about (and acting incredulous about) are obvious. I don’t think you’re very familiar with the topic. Another point is that humans never had ‘meaning’ handed to them on a plate, organised systems of belief emerged from centuries of angst and toil and self-examination.

My point is what biological function does questioning your own existence serve? Its just bizarre when I think about it. I wonder if aliens are watching us be self destructive and going "yo wtf are these retards doing lmao".
