Kanye West's new album just got the first perfect score Pitchfork has awarded since 2002 and the frenzy of sheer passion, joy, and butthurt on display in the /mu/ community is something I don't think /lit/ could ever match unless DFW came back to life and won the Nobel Prize. For Chemistry.

Hipsters listen to shit. Shit rises to a level where they think they are a musical genius. In reality they string together made up words, use samples from other peoples music because they can't make their own, and sell it to people who have no soul. So these sheep enjoy a catchy beat, because thats all it is, a catch beat. (If you don't know what I mean by that, you need to read more musical theory.) Then they bring someone who puts samples together (if you own a mac, you know you can do this yourself no problem) to a sales level where they grow an inflated ego. I'm sure people will compare rappers to poets, and you could in a elementary schoolyard way, but poets take great time to piece together every word to have meaning in a certain structure. I'm fair, so let's hear what Kayne has to say in the song power and lets see if he is on the level of poets. "Fuck SNL and the whole cast. Tell them Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass. More specifically they can kiss my ass hole. I'm an asshole? You niggas got jokes! You short minded niggas, thoughts is napolean. My verses mongolian, my ice brought the goalies in. The album is a little dramatic, but I like it. My favorite songs so far are "Dark Fantasy", "All of the Lights", and "Monster". I haven't heard the second half of the album yet, I haven't had the time to sit down and give it a proper listen.
