E reader, yea or nay? I recently have gotten the opportunity to buy one for about 40$. I was planning on loading some custom firmware so I could pirate books. I would mainly use this so I could get books that I aren't available at my local library. Do you feel that paper books are superior to reading them on a display?

I had one for years that I loved, but I just use a free app on my phone now. Its great for when there's downtime at my job, since everyone else just stares at their phone as well. I do prefer paper since its max comfy, but I reserve it for books I'm reading actively. I stick to novels on my phone app. Question for you, does your library not order books? Might be worth checking with the front desk people, the one I use will order copies of books they dont have if you request them.

I probably could. The waiting for a week or two doesn't bother me, since I have other stuff to read. I'd feel bad for asking for books every couple of weeks though

Why would you have to do that in order to pirate books?

get kobo or some other where you can adjust color temperature. I have paperwhite and its very good but that blue back light is killing me

>Kobo employs a front-lit display and also a Comfortlight color temperature system, so you will be able to read at night. The device has both white and red LEDS on the bottom of the screen and project light upwards. There are 17 lights total for even light distribution across the screen. You can make the screen, cold, warm or white, which emulates a real book.
