Did he finish metaphysics?

nearly, surely did explain it to the plebs and engage in his own work for as much truth as possible. I just know through reading all his works their was much more he discovered on his lonesome that he aspires others to seek just as he himself did

he went back to the beginning, which boils down to the same thing

>metaphysics?

Guénon disliked the term itself. He would actually have preferred the term "supernatural" or "supranatural" in a sense that something that transcends the natural: but because the word supernatural itself is connected to all sorts of stupid shit, he had to "resort" to use the term metaphysics, a term he intensely disliked too.

Troubled man, indeed.

>It should be explained first of all that in adopting the term ''metaphysic'' we are not greatly concerned with the historical origin of the word, which is open to some doubt, and which would even have to be regarded as purely accidental if one were prepared to admit the opinion, a decidedly improbable one in our view, according to which the word was first used to denote that which came ''after physics'' in the collected works of Aristotle. Likewise we need not concern ourselves with various other rather far-fetched interpretations that certain authors have thought fit to attach to this word at different times; these are not reasons, however, for giving up its use, for, such as it is, it is very well suited for what it should normally be called upon to express, at least so far as any term borrowed from the Western languages ever can be. In actual fact, taken in its most natural sense, even etymologically, it denotes whatever lies ''beyond physics''; [...] It is therefore on the basis of this interpretation that we make use of the term ''metaphysic'' and we must make it clear once for all that if we persist in using it, this is solely for the reasons just given and because we consider that it is always undesirable to have recourse to neologisms except in cases of absolute necessity.

I don't think he intensely disliked the term, but indeed he wasn't very comfortable with its usage due to the origin of the term and its westernization.

I love this picture.
To your question, he didn't finish, he just made clear again what most had forgotten

You can't finish metaphysics since it is not a temporal process. Anyways, Guenon extremely disavowed any sort of cult of personality forming around him and viewed himself solely as a vehicle by which the traditional doctrines could be transmuted to the west.
