Stoic philosophy seems very focused on the self; what philosophy talks about working with others? If I'm in a group project Stoicism prepares me to say "my lot is to perform this task, and thus I shall", but what prepares me to negotiate tasks with my group?

Stoicism in the Romans was a key fascist device because it place the state above oneself. Read a biography of Seneca to see an extreme dedication to only committing suicide when the state approves.

Stoicism

>Whenever you have trouble getting up in the morning, remind yourself that you’ve been made by nature for the purpose of working with others, whereas even unthinking animals share sleeping. And it’s our own natural purpose that is more fitting and more satisfying.
—Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 8.12

Where the hell did you read about stoics putting a state above one's own self?!
You know, you too should *actually* read his biography and not some buzzfeed article about "Evil fascist's philosophy", because you sound like someone who doesn't know anything about the times during which Seneca lived or about Stoicism. Neither do you know what kind of a person ordered Seneca to kill himself.

Seneca lived in the times of moral decline very similar to ours. "When taboos of yesterday became a norm". And that is why his works and works of other Stoics resonate with us so much nowadays.
Stoics advocated for living in peace with nature and other humans, for they are just a part of nature. "No person is inherently bad, but only lacks knowledge on what is bad and what is good". Stoics advocated for a humane treatment of slaves and equality before the law, and that one should uphold the moral order whenever possible.

Read about the reign of Nero(especially, staring from 65 AD)
Seneca was ordered to kill himself, and that he did. What do you think would happen otherwise? Of course he would have been killed.

Your entire post, and I assume your entire knowledge on Stoicism is based on some article written by a decadent idiot.

Potest autem, quod inutile rei publicae sit, id cuiquam civi utile esse?

The Roman stoics often used Regulus as an example of their philosophy. When he had been captured by the carthaginians he made an oath to return to the senate to negotiate the exchane of carthaginian prisoners for himself. He thought that the state was better off keeping the young skilled carthaginian leaders than himself (now an old man). He convinced the senate and went back to the carthaginian camp to be tortured and killed.

Hegel, read his critique of stoicism from the Phenomenology

The worst thing about stoicism is all the hot takes from people who know nothing about stoicism. The system is deceptively complex an this tricks people into thinking they have knowledge after a cursory glance.

Not only would he have been killed and likely crucified, but his family would be too.

Hegel's philosophy deals a lot with the Other and learning about yourself through the Other
