So apparently /lit/ is full of white, middle-class, liberal pseudo-intellectuals. Why is this a problem? I only see one bad adjective in this statement, "pseudo".

Also, you who use this statement, are you conservative/right-wing or Marxist or something else? Are you a minority or of a different class or a true intellectual for that matter?

Also, if I am a pseudo-intellectual, how do I change this?

It's because it's a very easy way to dismiss somebody's opinions or experiences without having to actually address their points. Despite being terribly offensive, it tends not to raise many eyebrows because white, middle-class, liberal pseudo-intellectuals have a habit of rolling over when someone levels this at them because they have some sort of perception that they are the "privileged" class, and to call this out as bullshit would be "racism." Think about it, would I win any points for saying "Your opinion doesn't matter because of your background as a working poor black person?"
