Started getting drunk by myself. That's it, right, chums? I'm destined to be a great writer, the way my teachers always said I would... r-right?

Did your teachers actually tell you that you would be a great writer?

Yeah, my elementary school teacher told me to send her a copy of my first book... My middle school teacher told me something similar. Those were the days...

They say that to every kid who consistently turns in A papers. It's meaningless. I was told that all the time and I work at 7-11 now.

I remember writing a story for class about two kids that go into a pyramid and fight this awakened mummy magician guy that rolls giant stone balls at them. I think that was 3rd or 4th grade.

I remember I used to draw and make comic books and flip-book movies out of post-it notes. Kids in class would beg to help me with the comics and drama ensued when I told kids they couldn’t help. Now I surf the web all day and can’t even look most people in the eyes.

HOLY FUCK. I forget about my comic books. I had a whole series about a secret agent. I remember around the time that I discovered ebaumsworld and newgrounds I started to incorporate a bunch of proto-meme references into the dialogue. I can't believe I lost my comics. Thanks for reminding me though. Fuck that is nostalgic.

Crazy how simple and straightforward making art you loved used to be. For me at least

I recently rediscovered that simplicity and straightforwardness. Current story I'm working on is flowing so nice and smooth. It's really fun writing it. Can't wait to finish and edit it.
