Why his work is never being discussed on this board? Do we feel resentment towards him due to his connections with national socialists?

>> No.12922353

/lit/ isn't really intelligent enough to understand him, very few are. And those who do, simply are.

This board is too invaded by /pol/ to have resentments towards him because of the nazi stuff. It's mostly just due to brainletism, given the threads on this guy I've been in and the level of discussion there.

Too complicated. Lit is more engaged with the pseudointellectual endeavours of postmodernist celebrities where cognitive weakness can be hidden behind obscurantist ramblings and endlessly repeated sarcastic/ ironic ingroup references. It's the outcome of sending 50% of the population to college and makes this forum practically unusable.

In the same sense he is the daddy of Sartre. He rejected rationalism (but not reason), but he didn't embrace rejecting truth as fascist and oppressive. His rejection of rationalism is read as subjectivism, but in fact he is overtly opposed to subjectivism which he blames Descartes for

Stop trying to claim the board for your own political sphere you child.

>> No.12924587

I don't claim it to be my own political sphere, I'm just pointing out a fact about the demographics here. You're the one getting triggered that someone doesn't agree with your political opinions by default

I agree but half of the "pomo celebrities" are legit philosophers. How do you expect them to make sense of a nonsensical world? Kant had it easy.

Where did anon say that? Sounds like you're projecting.

>> No.12926205

>>12926144
No, he is the one projecting. He has accused me of claiming the board for my own political sphere, when I only pointed out that a significant demographic here crosses over with /pol/.
Why this heavy reaction, calling me a child, if he's indeed not triggered? It comes off as territorial, as if someone here observing demographic trends like an outsider to /pol/ is equal to claiming this board politically. Nowhere in my post did I imply that they have no right to come here, so why this aggressive reaction from him? Fuck off with this manipulative BS.

I don't know why you guys keep memeing that he's too hard to read. Maybe it's because you're English speakers? If you read him in German, a lot of his weird terminology makes sense intuitively.
Let's take "Sorge" (= "worry" or "concern") for example, there are words like "besorgen" in German ("to take care of", "to acquire") and if you take that word very literally, ignoring those connotations, it sounds like "bestowing with concern". So Dasein relates to itself in the mode of bestowing concern, it can't help but take care of itself and its matters of concern.
Perhaps the English translations make his insightful use of language and play with etymology harder to recognize.

I'm not learning another language to read him.

And we meme that he's too difficult so we can bestow great importance on him and his work while avoiding any explanation it. We have an idea of Heidegger based on associations and this for us is the content and function of his philosophy. Truth is we are perfectly content to have proxy political and cultural arguments, defending or trashing Heidegger, based on our own approximation of his image. Look at this thread. No one cares about Dasein anon.
