I write in half-cursive. half-print. I learned to write in cursive when I was eight but I can't imagine kids are learning it in school anymore.

It's main utility is speed, so they're better off learning typing these days

it was taught to me and i just graduated.

No it is not true in the least. I’m 21 and was taught cursive in elementary school. Everyone I know was taught cursive. I moved a lot and was expected to write in cursive in each elementary and middle school I attended. It’s also a meme with old people in the states. They claim that the younger generation doesn’t know cursive. It’s not true unless you went to a school overrun by niggers that can’t be trusted to go to the bathroom without causing an unbelievable amount of trouble

learned in HS my handwriting is a combination of print, cursive, and chicken scratch accompanied by unintelligable lines. People we're supposed to learn in HS if not before but this generation has 70% of the classes on computer and most of the test on computer aswell the SAT/ACT are still on paper though no idea

Only educated people can. We have to learn it when writing documents beyond that its hardly used.

People will always learn to read and write in cursive as long as pens, pencils, and paper exist.

Canadian here, 21.
Learned cursive in Grade 1, 2. Teachers didn't care if you printed or wrote in cursive. I got by with my ugly chicken scratch all the way through school, i'm in 4th year uni now. Honestly I don't know to write in cursive like this guy >>12903813, but I have my own combination of half print half cursive.

Rate my heiroglyphics.

Once you get to a certain age, yes. Younger Zoomers were in school when they swapped cursive out for typing.
I know how to write in cursive though. The switch happened in the mid or late 00's

I learned it through 5th, and then they phased it out and made typing the bigger focus. Still know how, and most (white) people I know can atleast read it.

Imagine thinking writing in cursive is a rare skill and not common sense.

>> No.12905387

This is such a meme. Just about everyone can write in cursive. It's insanely easy and people like to pretend it's not being taught anymore because "when I was a kid education was hard hur dur". If your claim to intellectual superiority is the swirls in your penmanship you're a faggot.

I was taught when i was homeschooled in the third grade. But then when i went to Christian school they also were teaching it still. But its rarely used now and i forgot how to write fluently in cursive. i have worked on getting it right again. But everyone here signs there name here in cursive of course.

They taught when my younger brother and I (18 and 21 respectively) attended elementary school. I imagine they probably don't teach it anymore considering it's not actually useful for anything besides a fancy signature.

It's useful for anything where you have to write quickly, like being a student, doctor, lawyer, etc. Had to teach myself cursive in uni for notetaking.
