What does /lit/ think of Peter Sloterdijk?

>> No.12896630

Good thinker. Too bad contemporary philosophy scares the pseuds of /lit/. Art of Philosophy is really excellent. Articulates many thoughts I thought I was alone in thinking. You Must Change Your Life is good as well. One of the main works that got me back into philosophy after a hiatus. Inspiring and beautiful. Been meaning to read the Spheres trilogy for a while but it is still on my backlog for now. Supposedly Critique of Cynical Reason was what launched him to fame but I have not read that either. Haven't really delved into his politics yet but have heard good things about Neither Sun Nor Death.

Are there any other thinkers who explore 'spherology'? I think it's a fascinating paradigm.

Reading people you disagree with is more important than reading those you agree with.

He's the only interesting contemporary German philosopher who dares to phrase any provocative and 'dangerous' ideas.

Rules for the Human Zoo is a good short introduction, there are lots of good interviews in German on YouTube as well.
