So, who else collects massive amounts of books to be able to pick what to read on a given day from a wast collection of quality content?

Whenever I tell a guest that I haven't read most of my ca 3000k books they claim I'm only doing it to show off. Is it really that strange to enjoy the ability to have ones own library? I throw out whole laundry baskets full of read books which aren't worth storig for my kids. Isn't it much more logical to store books which one wants to read compared to show off the books one has already read, and most likely will not again?
