This is the best short story I've ever read.
Me and my friends were discussing it for hours after we read it and we'd like to hear your opinion on it. We just gave up and we'll continue debating tomorrow.
It's .99 cents on the Kindle store, and worth it moreso than any 20 dollar book I've bought.

>> No.1288919

Wow, this is the first time an author has tried to sell his own work on /lit/. NOT.

Fuck off.

>> No.1288924

It's called browsing through the new releases on the Kindle store.

>> No.1288926

>>1288924

It's called "I'm pathetic, please buy my book, it only costs .99!" then denying that's what you're doing like a little cunt. Suck dog dick in hell.

>> No.1288942

Hey OP, we don't have to pay you a dollar to tell you your story sucks. Just post it here and we'll do it for free.

>> No.1288944

I read this story and DO NOT BELIEVE OP. It is NOT what you think it is!

This is the same guy who wrote "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure". I'm surprised Amazon let him keep this work of "fiction" on there but I guess at 99 cents nobody noticed?

But still, this story is DISGUSTING. It's about an obese 47 year old pedophile named "Valor" who keeps a lace doily for boys to wear on their head while he violates them with frozen snickers bars. And it only gets worse from there. It ends with an orgy of humping, sucking, and fucking that takes place in the ball crawl at a Chuck E Cheese.

Seriously, this is the WORST piece of fiction I have ever read, and fuck the First Amendment if there doesn't have to be any "truth in advertising" for fiction. And fuck you, OP.

>> No.1288953

This story is actually REALLY good...
But it reeks of college writing assignment turned tried to make a profit on it.

>> No.1288956

>>1288942

There's no protection, I guess I could post it here.
Again, it's not my story.

>> No.1288959

>>1288956

Will you, please? I'd like to read it. Thanks. Also it would serve the fucking OP right, give him a little scare.

>> No.1288968

I won't get in trouble for that?
I have to re-type it out, so ignore any typos.
Hold on. Buy it if you like it though, it's nice.
Reminds me of Shirley Jackson.

For 99 cents I would expect a little character development.

Indeed, for 99 cents I would expect characters.

I don't think Mister Dreamsymbolism and his family count, since we know nothing about them apart from their wealth and social prominence.

There's more to Shirley Jackson than a surprise ending. You actually invest in what's happening because it seems familiar and so there's a chance to care about the people who are affected by her surprise ending.

The character is America itself, something most of us are already familiar with. It shows it's vulnerability to dropping to something like this despite what we all think...
I like it, I've never seen an America like this before, like the description says, the media always portrays it as the most amazing country in the world thats completely invulnverable.
With the death of Mr. Reveur, the atypical American Dream goes with it.

Kyle, stop agreeing with your own posts and GTFO my /lit/.

This is a small community and we sort of know roughly who's on here and how many and nobody who posts here regularly would say "owned" or even "pwned" unironically.

Also, considering the sort of people who post on /lit/, nobody would consider me to have been "owned" by a post that included the likes of

>It shows it's vulnerability to dropping to something like this despite what we all think...

Which includes not just a misspelled "it's" but also makes no sense on the most basic level, not to mention

>the media always portrays it

When any self-respecting e/lit/ist knows that "media" is the plural of "medium" and therefore would require a plural verb "portray", not "portrays", and meanwhile

>With the death of Mr. Reveur, the atypical American Dream goes with it.

What the fuck is "the atypical American Dream"?

Look, I'm not going to beat up on you any harder, Kyle, because this is really quite poignant, you're a first-time writer who is looking for readers (which is quite sweet), but seriously, don't quit your day-job and GTFO my /lit/.

>> No.1289029

>>1289026

Implying Kyle was even looking at this thread.
For the millionth time I bought this on my Android because it was on the new releases for cheap and I liked the title and genres it listed.

>> No.1289038

>>1289029

And for that reason you decided to post on /lit/ for the first time ever, to assure us that this 300-word community college assignment was "better than any 20 dollar book you've read"?

Either you're retarded or you're reading the wrong 20 dollar books, but seriously, GTFO out of my /lit/.

And I call you "Kyle" because its part of this avant-garde work of fiction that I'm writing about the death of the typical American success-through-social-networking dream when a middle-aged first-time writer ends up weeping because a bunch of snarky college students hold up an accurate mirror to him.

>> No.1289045

I really like the way the "Lace" in the title becomes a "neck lace" which is made out of actual lace.

I thought that was really symbolic and well worth the 99 cents for approximately 99 seconds of reading pleasure which I and my friends were somehow able to talk about for hours because an anonymous person online said it was like Shirley Jackson.

If this is your honest opinion then actual buy the product and put a review on Amazon.
I'm sorry that this story is too deep for you to comprehend.

>> No.1289052

>>1289045

I love how in the last paragraph as we start to realize what the lace actually is, it changes from a proper capitalized title to just a regular old neck lace.
