Modern man has far too much free time on his hands. How can anyone expect us to do good with so much free time? With every fiber of my being i just want to rot and play world of warcraft and eat subway all day just to pass time a little quicker and hell, make it more enjoyable.

I think amongt everything, the cause and the outlier of this degenerate society is because of mans boredom. I can’t be the only one staring at the floors, counting tiles, watching dust gather.

Kaczynski was volcel, and it's not really about roasties anyway. It's about technology and why people are so unhappy in industrial society.

Basically you're unhappy because you're a slave.

I felt (and continue to occasionally feel) something similar.
Trick is:
Get outside, go on hikes
Do your homework/whatever is expected of you at your job
Knock out any chores you need to at home
If you can (I cannot yet but this is the plan):
Permaculture
Pets
Bicycling
Reading

Because *everyone* in industrial society is a slave to technology and capital. There is no free person except the independent farmer or a hunter living on a homestead in the woods, and even they are subject to interference through property taxes. You are NOT free.

why don't you faggots understand that meaninglessness and boredom are an essential of human nature? people don't have free time. they work 8 hours a day and commute for another 2 and get home with no energy to do anything. it's you who has free time you fat fuck neet. understand that if the argument was the opposite, if people had even more strict routines, then it would be "how can we be happy if we can't even live life? like i gotta work 15 hours a day man... this isn't fair"

That's funny because right now I'm reading and grading essays on the following question: 'does happiness lie in rest?'
Anyway there's one thing that doesn't sound convincing in what you say - do you assume that it is natural to spend your free time in degenerate things like vidyas? What seems to be actually responsible for boredom is a bad or perverted use of your free will, not free time in itself.
What is true is that we're not able to find happiness in work (and I dunno if it has ever been the case), but whatever, we should be able to get away from boredom by loving what makes us better. And that's not vidyas.

There is no exception. The farmer can farm ONLY because the technological system has deemed his soil too poor to be mined, turned into a mall, or an appartment block. Freedom and technology are opposite vectors. There is nothing that will reconcile both as they are fundamentally incompatible.

Every single inch of the planet has seen its fate decided by industrialization.

You literally need to find a way to make enough money to buy a homestead somewhere far away from this whole mess.
I would honestly be down for /lit/ all deciding to do this in the same zip code and taking over some little town as our own haven of quiet reading and personal industry, trading various foods at a weekly farmer's market, meeting in church for discussion of philosophy, and congregating at a local pub once or twice a week for music, jokes, conversation, and drinks. We could all bring out own skills to this community and build something great. I'm in med school and plan on going primary care with OB so I can become the pillar of some small town somewhere. I'm eager to serve and contribute but I dread being immersed and surrounded in small town ignorance and the generally elderly population. But if we could all figure some place to go as our haven away from modernity that would be sick.
Maybe we could select some small town with a community college (so teachers can have jobs and our kids don't have to deal with shitty schools) and cheap land somewhere and start flooding it.

Doing things for yourself is the nature of happiness you fucking retards. Nietzche gave himself syphillis as some sort of protest and was chronically unhappy, do you really take his own pathological shortcomings as truth? If so you're a fucking fool. Medieval peasants spent a third of the year feasting and making merry, and you the modern man are lucky if your wageslaver allows you a day off to attend a friend's birthday.

I've thought about this as well. No more than 150 people, about 120 males and 130 females. Maybe focusing on Art and allowing only +120 iq individuals to enter. Also establishing different periods to focus on certain areas, like for example a couple of months where everyone discusses russian literature, another in whic everyone dedicates to music, or maths, or philosophy, etc. Those who are not interested in those topics would choose to work on the land or whatever is necesary until that period ends. The best thing is that you can easily pull this off with maybe 10 acres or less(not that expensive). It also would help the fact that most people that are into the humanities are not focused on money but art and status, so the whole atmosphere would be really nice.

If that's Kaczynski's message, then I'm glad I didn't waste time reading him. No slave is unhappy simply for being a slave. A slave is only unhappy when they've been wrongly convinced that they deserve to be something other than a slave, that being a slave is somehow a bad thing. Do you unironically support equality between men and women too? Might as well, if you support equality between masters and slaves.
