Verbosity for verbosity's sake works for me. Observe something irl, then re-observe it in your "writer's voice".
>There's a woman stumbling over there
turn that into
>The woman, a corpulent oval dressed in clothes befitting a much, much more attractive woman, stumbled down the street as the wind battered her relentlessly. She endeavored to fight the gale, pitifully, but her figure did not allow for the pivoting and finesse necessary to withstand the currents. Eventually she toppled; falling over gracelessly and bewildered. I strode up to her, spat on her face, unzipped my pants, and--as I backed away, still facing her--emptied my bladder in a stream of mockery at her misfortune.

Nah, at least not for me. Writing it can be "exhausting", it demands a somewhat expansive vocabulary, but once you get into the "magic" of throwing together some over-written paragraph that a college professor would condense into two sentences, you start to really laugh at the silliness of it and find enjoyment in verbosity.
At least, that's what happened with me.

I'm working right now. I plan to finish up to two pages before I go to sleep.

I'm also working on a novel. Five-thousand words a day, if you could manage it, is a good pace. It is particularly helpful to have a detailed outline of the chapters.
