If you want entertainment books, I recommend Harold Covington's Northwest Quartet, with the exception of Hill of the Ravens, which sucked. Covington might not have had the best character (although he was a damned sight better than the other cranks of the nineties and oughts) or figure, but he was a brilliant and funny writer.

To expand on this, Hill of the Ravens tries to do too much in one book, and it falls flat, especially the dialogue, which was never Covington's strongest point to begin with. He tries to write a political propaganda novel AND a whodunnit mystery AND a sci-fi thoughtpiece AND a bit of an attack on his political rivals within the right, all in the same short novel, and it definitely doesn't work.

Also, I suppose I should mention what the books actually ARE, while I'm here. It's a series of fictional novels written in support of the Butler Plan/Northwest Imperative. The first and last of the five books are set in a future white ethnostate, the Northwest American Republic, which has seceded from the United States. The middle three are about the IRA-esque guerilla war for independence fought against the United States, and are written in a style that explains the tactics and strategies employed therein. These are the meat of the series, especially The Brigade.
