I don't know much about Reddit, what's that sub about

>> No.12822918

Probably a timid circlejerk like the rest of reddit.

I’m sure they’re smart and educated, but all the sarcasm in the world can’t hide the fact that they, like all users of that site, are highly dogmatic.

In the brief period where I browsed reddit in highschool, I got into arguments on that subreddit because people there denied that both Hedonists and Nazis had moral systems of their own. To the people that browsed there, any ideology that was too scary was also objectively amoral, no matter what actual Hedonists and Nazis said about their ethical beliefs.

reeks of midwits that consider themselves to be smart because they see how much Peterson is a hack like anyone else with a fucking brain.

isn't ethical hedonism just utilitarianism?

I was going to ignore this thread, but you posted a nice frog so I guess I have to reply now.
From a quick look at their top posts and stickies it seems like they're discussing politics while pretending to be discussing something else. Also P*terson.
I think I'm not the biggest fan of the premise. Why start a community with the purpose of finding and pointing at idiots? Just point your finger in a random direction, there's a good chance you'll find an idiot at the other end.
They seem to be enjoying themselves, so whatever.

Yes, but regular, rapey libertine hedonism also has ethics, in the sense that boredom or the lack of pleasure are both bad, while pain and even death on the other hand aren't terrible costs for pleasure, especially in an exotic form.

I was going to ignore this thread, but you posted a nice frog, so I guess I have to reply now.
After a quick look at their top posts and stickies I'd say it's a group of people discussing politics and pretending to be discussing something else.
I guess I'm not the biggest fan of the premise. It's a waste of time to find and point out idiots. Just point your finger in a random direction and there's a good chance you'll find an idiot at the other end of it.
They seem to be enjoying themselves though, so whatever.

They're like most Redditors and resort to sarcasm and smugposting because they're legitimately stupid. I've seen them delete posts that make pro-choice people look bad and they can be really stubborn in their mistakes. Anytime Evola gets mentioned there's always talk of him being a fascist regardless of how much evidence and reason there is to believe otherwise. I've seen a guy show them the original language and ask them why it would make sense for the police to arrest him on suspicion of being a fascist, only to release him after he admitted to being a "superfascist" and he got banned.

It's the same deal with any philosopher or topic. It doesn't take a lot of interaction with them to realize they're not all that bright.

they are normie-tier liberal democrats who see anything not advocating for maintaining the status-quo as too extremist to even be considered
