I write in library books, only in pencil though, and only shitty old copies that don’t look like they would be of any value

I also was the first person to cut the pages on a 100 year old set of Flaubert’s works that my university had had for 60+ years. All those years and no one had gotten past like the fiftieth page of the first volume (the 1st half of Madame Bovary), I found that kind of sad.
