Does anyone else think that Hemingway is kinda hard? I just finished the first page of A Farewell to Arms, and desu it's kind of longwinded.

He not particularly dense or obtuse, just hard to focus on. Hating Hemingway has become a cliche in most literary circle, I wish he didn’t bore me to tear desu

all I remember of Hemingway:
Nick Adams finding two hobos by tracks cooking ham and eggs—I COULD TASTE THAT HOBO’S COOKING
—character staring at bacon frying while his Mom talked
—Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber
—Moveable Feast: Hemingway opens door and there’s Gertrude Stein and Toklas scissoring
