I felt it was pretty honest. I don't know about Nabokov's sexual preferences (nor I don't care), but I thought Vladimir himself was showing his naked soul in front of the audience.

Personally, I dropped a tear during that "pentapod monster" scene. It was beautiful, also the "purple prose" style fits really well here.

I felt bad for HH during that final revelation (Dolly Schiller). They both are victims of the circumstances, but for a second I've been able to see Lo as a powerful antagonist.

Ada or Ardor is in my pile of pending books, and as far as I know, while Lolita is his most popular book, Ada is his finest book. I also read "King, Queen, Valet", which is okay, but not that good.
