My friend told me that the necronomicon existed before lovecraft and i laughed in his face and told him to go read some more catcher in the rye. I hate that guy.

post stories about how you owned your ignorant illiterate friends

>> No.1274828

I would give the guy points for not knowing crap about such a shitty writer as Lovecraft.

I guess you're a fan of stephanie myer or micheal crichton

This thread sucks.

Lovecraft's ideas and the cthulhu mythos are really interesting and they represent a very special kind of horror for me, it's just a shame they had to be brought into text by a fairly clunky, ponderous writer like hp brownsauce

>>1274836

That's a pretty odd assumption.

Lovecraft is really bad writing. It's ok not to know anything about those stories.

>> No.1274855

lovecraft is a pretty bad writer
and his racist overtones kinda break the whole mythos to me
oh well

back to shadow of the torturer

I think he's a fine writer, but he really needed to lay off the thesaurus.

You sound like an ass. Yeah, you could make your friends feel stupid any time they don't know something you don't know, but I'm sure you're friends won't hang around for too long if you keep that shit up.

One of my friends thinks she is supersmart, but she is too lazy to read. She did read, and loved, The DaVinci Code. I borrowed it from her and read it; it totally sucked. The writing was so crappy and inept I still hiss involuntarily if I eevn see it. We discussed it, argued virulently. Had to inform her that her IQ has just gone down 30 points.

This isn't related to the grand scheme of the thread, but I was browsing the secondhand section of a bookstore and there were, by my recollection, 6 or 7 copies of The Da Vinci Code and 5 or 6 of Angels and Demons. I guess people share your sentiments.

This is /lit/ not /fit/. Most of us probably have the bodies of heavy readers as opposed to heavy lifters. You got the rest right though.
