Hi, /lit/. I'm pretty much a booklet but this guy here has aroused me some interest.

What's the best way to get into Kierkegaard philosophy? Is worth it? Rec me some books, give opinions, share you thoughts, etc.

fear and trembling obviously. But you need some basic philosophy first or you'll really miss the point

What basic philosophy?

OP here, ive already read some of Plato, Marcus Aurelius, Dostoyevsky and Nietzsche as well. I know it's too basic, so rec me some more if you can

Based. Present Age then Fear and Trembling

I enjoyed Purity of Heart is to Will One Thing--it's written like a sermon is delivered which makes it great to read aloud for practice or for an audience

Just go ahead and read Fear and Trembling. If you've read Nietzsche you may see that Kierkegaard presents similar ideas but from a Christian point of view. The Ubermensch becomes the knight of faith, master morality becomes teleological suspension of the ethical.

Almost anyone can read Fear and Trembling, just push ahead with it because Kierkegaard can be very long-winded sometimes and he likes to repeat things a lot. Once you've gotten used to it though he's a very enjoyable read.

He has a lot of short ones which are easy to get into

Has the right idea. On Angst is also a quick one, and deals with anxiety and the inevitable. Diary of a Seducer is hilarious: it's made more funny by the fact it's true, but he essentially gets engaged to this girl to see if he doesn't want to be volcel and then dumps her once he confirms he wants to continue to be volcel.
