No amount of reading will make you a better person if you expect the books to do the work for you. You have to exercise your ability to think, empathize and try new things.

Also, if you read the preamble at the top of the list, it doesn't claim to make you a better person. It's treated like a lifehack for autists - Be attractive, reference books!

Some of these are good. Some of these are meh. Some of these are bad. It seems to be almost random except that they are all pretty popular. It seems to be more reading for vanity than anything else. I would say avoid this attitude.

Whenever I try to reference books most people 99% of the time don’t get it. It has never gotten me anything close to respect. I’m not even autistic about it, people just don’t respond to book references the same way they do movie and video game references.
