What makes it serious to higher IQ people, in contrast to something like the koran, that only sandniggers take seriously?

It's basically the book that Mormons use to reel people into their cult. It's relatively tame; it exposes little doctrine and generally talks about Jewish wars in North America that never happened. It also flips the gospel of the New Testament, whereas the New Testament explains that works come from a supernatural change of being, the Book of Mormon enforces the idea that supernatural change of being comes from works.

This idea is further explained in Doctrines and Covenants and The Pear of Great Price, books where their doctrine gets absolutely insane. There are levels of heaven, and an infinite number of gods in an endless pantheon, making existence more meaningless than hard, nihilistic determinism.

As to why people believe it, I have no idea. I'm convinced that there is some sort of evil supernatural property to it. It would make sense, as Joseph Smith dabbled with divination and the occult, but the LDS Church as a whole is very sketchy, their ordinances are creepy af, and it's a very guilt-driven and damning cult to be caught up in.

Don't take it seriously. If you want to read it, fine, but read the CES Letter first. It explains why the book is garbage.
