I just finished reading The Trial. It wasn't like what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. Anybody who has read it - what do you make of the Priest's parable in the cathedral chapter?

I feel like speculations on what did Josef K do, is he innocent, what is the court for, etc. are kind of pointless. The book leaves a lot unknown but if that's what you're the most concerned with upon finishing it you kind of missed the point, because the whole point is we're never going to know and we have to be just as confused as K.

Don't bother trying to figure anything about Metamorphosis out because there's really nothing there. I went on a Ritalin fuled binge of academic work relating to it a couple weeks ago and it has convinced me that English professors are a bunch of faggots trying to show how superior they are to other English professors. It's either a fucking 22 layer metaphor for every single goddamn thing in the universe or it's a story about a traveling salesman turning into a bug.
