>Faith is precisely this paradox, that the individual as the particular is higher than the universal, is justified over against it, is not subordinate but superior -- yet in such a way, be it observed, that it is the particular individual who, after he has been subordinated as the particular to the universal, now through the universal becomes the individual who as the particular is superior to the universal, for the fact that the individual as the particular stands in an absolute relation to the absolute. This position cannot be mediated, for all mediation comes about precisely by virtue of the universal; it is and remains to all eternity a paradox, inaccessible to thought. And yet faith is this paradox

He said a man determines his relation to the universal law through his relation to the absolute, a man has an absolute duty to God

All humanity has duty to the universal, and God placed humanity under the law, and yet through faith in the absolute that we stand before as individuals, a person can transgress the universal and still not sin, as they still act in accordance with the absolute, not being able to translate our reasoning to others as only the individual knows his individual relation to God

The paradox is you are still obeying the universal through disobeying it

That faith is a category of individual perception that it's not an inherent quality of matter but is the result, paradoxically, from man's separation from God. The individual is lower than God yet only something below or separated from God can have faith as he is individual and not absolute. Finitude.

Also that the individual is at all times interior to God yet God is constantly absolute working through the individual so in this way the person is both Superior to all yet below all and this constant process defines his individuality
