God willing, one of these days we'll get a REAL movie adaptation of the Iliad, with all the gods and superhuman heroes. Troy sucked.

Brad Pitt *should* have been so good as Achilles. I think "Troy" is a testament to the power of the director to elevate or ruin a movie. I recall quite vividly how lame and awkward that shot is as it plays out. Sigh. Oh, and turning Patroclus into Achilles's kid cousin was stupid. That and what they did to Agamemnon. I could go on forever. At least Peter O'Toole was there to give us some relief.
