What I mean is that there won't actually be any meaningful debate because of meta-disagreements. i.e. Peterson makes a point about topic A based on the presupposition that X is true. Zizek doesn't think X is true, so says something entirely different about A. In this sense, they're talking past each other rather than actually debating A. A simple example: you ever listen to a creationist debate a Dawkins-type about evolution? It's fucking boring because all each of them can do is present their own evidence for why they're right since they don't agree on whether the Bible is the word of God.
