Freelancing software developer, but I got a stable job as tech support in a different city this friday, which starts next friday, because I need to pay some of my parents' denbts for a couple years, and I need to know I'll have a full check every month. Might keep on freelancing as a software developer at night though, if I have enough energy. Will miss being a shut-in though, I've been one for almost a decade now.
Gravity's Rainbow, which I started early january. Took a couple of days from it to read Goblin Slayer v6 when it came out mid/late january though.

You know, I read the first paragraph (just that, though) and it was pretty well written. Not much desire to read any further, though, because the rest is probably shit based on the fanbase.
>who the fuck reads just the first paragraph of something
Wannabe authors. You have no idea how important the first paragraph is.

Absolute madman. Why did you pick this up? Several people on /lit/ have read it, for being a seemly obscure text by an unknown. I heard it was the little yellow book that influenced Dorian Grey, and that led me there. Dunno about anyone else though.

It's been a great read so far (I'm only about 1/3 of the way in). It definitely reads more like a random collection of opinions than a cohesive argument (especially compared to something like Dialectic of Enlightenment or Negative Dialectics), but with that said, I think that over time certain larger arguments start to congeal and are developed across different aphorisms.

It's certainly the most fun I've had reading Adorno. Many of the aphorisms are brilliant and totally change the way you look at some aspect of the world. Others are comically pretentious or just downright curmudgeonly. But either way, the book should dissuade you of the notion that Adorno was some completely joyless buzzkill—I mean he is, but he's clearly having a lot of fun playing that role, and does so with a great sense of humor.
