Recent purchases thread?

I received these in the mail day, though Gormenghast was actually from a gifting thread (thank you so much for that, finger anon person! :D). I'm really excited about The Key by Tanizaki, and I think I'll be reading Cosmicomics for my first Calvino book.

So what have you bought/gotten recently, /lit/?

how you gonna get something cool like calvino and then buy some garbage like palahnuik? damn.

Honestly, the Palahnuik is for someone else in my house. But I'm probably going to read it anyway, just 'cause I haven't.

It's an important piece of literature though...supposedly...I'll give it a go.

I have the koran too. Have you read that?

Lovely. Fight Club is, in essence, the Great Gatsby.

A pretty eventful week-and-a-half or so. All but one second-hand, some in the mail, most from op-shops and a bookseller in town.

Is the Exorcist worth reading? I assume it's about as stupid as the movie was, but for two dollars it could be good for cheap thrills.

OP here again, got this in the mail today also, and I've finished up Cosmicomics. Definitely reading some more Calvino, probably Invisible Cities next.

Awh, you're welcome!

I recently got Clive Barker's Books of Blood Vols 1-3 under a suggestion from some random horror thread. Bunch of short stories, I was getting into them until I got to the one about Cancer becoming personified and taking the shape of Marilyn Monroe, killing a teenager, ripping his eyes out, stuffing them up her vagina, then seducing another guy, getting him into her grasp and morphing into John Wayne and killing that guy by forcing its mutated fingers into his ears and pushing his eyeballs out from the inside. Then a fat chick managed to subdue Cancer because she rolled over on top of it and she was too heavy for it to get free.

Weird stuff, man. whatthefuckamireading.jpg, etc. Vols 4-6 have been ordered. XD
