Keep a memo on your phone of them. With every batch a couple will stick for life.

So what? You're going to forget the entire sentence and remember only enough fragments to make out the plot by the end of the day.

Most writers repeat words a lot. You can even tell when they just discovered a new word when they use it again and again in less than 5 pages. The learning comes from this repetition.

I use the quizlet app on my phone and make a vocabulary review where I see the definition and choose the word from multiple choice. I quiz myself every now and then (once a week tops) and it seems to work. I add any unknown words I come across in my reading and I’m up to 350ish now.
