The Battle royal part was actually my least favorite, what was the analogy? I mean I could grasp the analogy, but not how it applied to his story. All the whites wanted him to be a proper white (except the women who wanted to screw him because they saw him as an exotic savage). His clashes with the black nationalists and Bledsoe don't seem to relate to it

Right, I got the metaphor, just not sure how it applied to the rest of the story. Bledsoe controlls whites, not vice versa, and the black nationalists seem basically like Nazis but black. The only white manipulating shit was the phoney commie, and he didn't seem intent on causing violence so much as preventing it when necessary
