Seems easily defeated by outside forces who have a much larger army, as well as corruption by Guardians who realize they can live a comfier life - no matter how good their childhood training is, all it take is one or two corruptible Guardians to destroy the entire thing forever

It's an escapist's wet dream you stupid cock gobbling faggot, it's such a retarded argument to think that's the "ideal society' where rather trying to solve humanity's greatest challenges like world hunger, overpopulation, and scarcity of resources and materials, you escape from them into a consumerist nerd filled wonderland where you could live out your wildest fantasies. It's a retarded message for both the movie and the book. it tells you to run away and defend your childish fantasies than face the harsh realities of the real world. Rather than arguing against the OASIS and show you don't need to escape the real world and you should face real world challenges, they defended it many times over especially towards the last scene Wade and James where in James's childhood room. if had Wade pushing the button that would have push the button to release malware virus that would ultimately destroy the OASIS, it would have been a better ending because Wade would have realized that people shouldn't escape from their problem but to rather than confront them and that should have been the message of the movie. But to you Anon I say fuck you and your opinions

>it tells you to run away and defend your childish fantasies than face the harsh realities of the real world.

what people want from society is to be insulated from reality.

OP wasn't a question on individualism or civic responsibility

It would be "nice" if a society had those as ideals, but you may as well say kill (almost) everyone now, if you wanted people that constituted that society to have those ideals.

I'm not talking about individualism and civil responsibly, I'm talking about how the movie and book's message is to ignore life's problems and live in wonderland and this anon's post >>12575163 where he implies that a overpopulated dystopian world that's not even cyberpunk where everyone just escape to Fantasyland a.k.a the OASIS is an ideal society. I agree that a lot of people in today's society just want to escape into fanastyland and they do a means of substance abuse, excessive pleasure etc. but the movie/book implies you should defend your denial of reality, reject it and live out your wonderful fantasies rather wake up and see the life has flaw and problems that need to be dealt with sooner or later.

Wow, how kind of you to say this. Not sure if I'd identify as Hindu, because I don't like to take on labels, but I'm ethnically such, and my philosophy in life matches those found within Hinduism, specifically Advaita. I wish our philosophy was understood by a larger part of the world, especially the West. They'd benefit so much from having a spiritual framework under which to live, like that which is found over in India. It saddens me to see them without any such institution in their lives, and their own institutions dedicated solely to crushing their spirit in every aspect.

Are we respected in the world? Does anyone, from other cultures, look over at us and consider us worthy of reverence? It would feel so nice to have that. I feel kind of inferior to other cultures, to be honest. Not sure why, though. A meekness within me keeps me from articulating much about my culture when speaking to others, letting them have the stage with speaking of their own.

>No one has posted the obvious answer
The Republic is doomed because bearing and barrenness of soul and bodies come not only to plants in the earth but to animals. On the earth when revolutions complete for each the bearing round of circles; for ones with short lives, the journey is short; for those whose lives are the opposite, the journey is the opposite. Although they are wise, the men educated as leaders of the city will nonetheless fail to hit on the prosperous birth and barrenness of your kind with calculation aided by sensation, but it will pass them by, and they will at some time beget children when they should not. For a divine birth there is a period comprehended by a perfect number; for a human birth, by the first number in which root and square indices, comprising three distances and four limits, of elements that make like and unlike, and that wax and wane, render everything conversable and rational. Of these elements, the root four-three mated with the five, thrice increased, produces two harmonies. One of them is equal an equal number of times, taken one hundred times over. The other is of equal length in one way but is an oblong; on one side, of one hundred rational diameters of the five, lacking one for each; or, if of irrational diameters, lacking two for each; on the other side, of one hundred cubes of the three. This whole geometrical number is sovereign of better and worse begettings. And when the guardians from ignorance of them cause grooms to live with brides out of season, the children will have neither good natures nor good luck. Their predecessors will choose the best of these children; but, nevertheless, since they are unworthy, when they, in turn, come to the powers of their fathers, they will as guardians first begin to neglect by having less consideration than is required, first, for music, and, second, for gymnastic; and from there the young will become more unmusical. And rulers chosen from them won't be guardians very apt at testing Hesiod's races and gold and silver and bronze and iron. And the chaotic mixing of iron with silver and of bronze with gold engenders unlikeness and inharmonious irregularity, which, once they arise, always breed war and hatred in the place where they happen to arise. Faction must always be said to be 'of this ancestry wherever it happens to rise. Once faction had arisen, each of these two races, the iron and bronze, pulled the regime toward money-making and the possession of land, houses, gold, and silver; while the other two, the gold and the silver-not being poor but rich by nature-led the souls toward virtue and the ancient establishment. Struggling and straining against one another, they came to an agreement on a middle way: they distributed land and houses to be held privately, while those who previously were guarded by them as free friends and supporters they then enslaved and held as serfs and domestics; and they occupied themselves with war and with guarding against these men.

No. Nothing Socrates ever did will compare to the beauty of pre Civil War America before it was heavily kiked and niggered. A white man could do ANYTHING back then and get away with it. It was literal paradise, and our Founding Fathers wanted it to be a white nationalist ethnostate. They would have been in the Klan if it was around back then. What could have been...

>Founding fathers in the KKK
Jesus Christ on a stick just for one try getting off /pol/ you fucking faggot. America didn't get kiked until the creation of the Federal reserve and up to the 1960's after Kennedy & Nixon's departure is when America truly went to shit. If the founding fathers wanted America to be ethno-nationalist white country they would have shrine it into the Constitution. No, they were just sick and tired of the eternal Anglo screwing the colonies over with stupid bullshit taxes. The only thing I can agree that if the founding fathers were alive today and see what the country has become, they would be absolutety pissed off but not to the point of white nationalism and full on 1488. You say you was a literal paradise even through the conditions of life we're way more poor than they are today even if you are well off and plus it was only good the majority of whites excluding the poor whites and minorities.

You're just a dumb /pol/nigger who's the type of anon to complain about white genocide but doesn't do shit about it but complain on a underage CIA Honeypot board.
