I prefer Hornblower.

Hornblower as a character wasn't interesting enough for me. He had two moods: battle mode and depression, and it was really annoying seeing him mope around all the time. Lt. Bush was cool though.
>Best book
I honestly don't remember
>Best moment
The Dutch man-of-war chase in the rain
>Best character
Either Stephen or Killick
>Best ship
HMS Surprise

>Best book
Treason's Harbor
>Best moment
Jack in the stocks after his fraud conviction but all his old shipmates flood the square and cheer him and make sure nobody messes with him
(close second when Stephen realizes Padeen has taught his supposedly simple minded daughter Gaelic)
>Best character
Stephen was my favorite but if you're looking for best supporting then Barret Bonden. Can't remember the French spy's name but he was best villain.
>best ship
HMS Surprise. There can clearly be no other answer.

>French spy
Dutord, I think? I remember the character but not the name. I forgot about Jack in the stocks, that was really heartwarming.

>Dutord
oui

Come to think of it, the American that Diana was mixed up was pretty fomidable too. He figured out pretty quickly that Stephen was the spy they were looking for, (though he initially thought it might be Jack)

He was the guy Stephen dueled, right? Canning, the rich merchant dude?

>> No.12557019

>>12556984
No not Canning. Harry Johnson.
Stephen, Jack and Diana sneak out of Boston on a boat and get taken aboard the HMS Shannon. He never duels Johnson.

I'm due for a reread, the books have all blended together. Come to think of it, I still haven't read Blue at the Mizzen or 21 yet.
