A system of democracy with millions of participants affords as much freedom and power to the individual as a dictatorship.

Case and point: you vote is literally worth less than 1:1,000,000 therefore making democracy less about your vote and moreso about your ability to persuade others. A system of democracy means that you convincing your neighbors to vote may give you a 4c the power you had. Effectively, this means the average person's power only exists in their capacity to persuade others to affect policy. On the other hand, a dictatorship would afford the same level, or very similar level, of power to the individual. You have no right to vote but it changes nothing because the system still relies on your capacity to influence others, just now instead of influencing everyone, you now only have to influence the dictator, his delegates advisers and their sources of information.

Democracy is NOT a system that provides freedom. Democracy is NOT a system that produces truth. Democracy is a system that maintains relative stability based on the concept that as long as you keep the majority happy and give them the illusion of being able to affect politics then you will prevent violent resistance.

Prove me wrong.
