I'm new to /lit/, how the fuck are there so many people on here that hate women, racial minorities, LGBTQ+ people, etc? Reading is all about better understanding empathy and the human condition, and yet I see so much hatred and bigotry on here that it may as well be /pol/ with a few more intelligent folks.

OP here. I've seen people on this board hating on capitalism and Christianity, but not really white men. I agree that when the groups I talked about originally are prejudiced towards white men it's bad, I just don't see much of it on this board. The differences in hating on capitalism or Christianity and hating on racial minorities, women, or LGBTQ+ is that being the former is a choice, while being the latter is not. I wish people wouldn't be dicks about Christianity, but it's also a topic that's up for debate. Being black is not, which is why your comparison was a false equivalency. I hope I've cleared the air.
