"The Stone is known in the US books and films as the Sorcerer's Stone, which is also the name of the US book & movie. This was so because American children were presumedly not as familiar with real-world mythology surrounding the Philosopher's Stone."

That's right, because American audiences were considered too dumb and uncultured, they changed the name of the fucking book and the name of an important plot element.

America is that dumb.

This shit became boring and uninteresting years ago, why do people persist with it?

>Scholastic Corporation bought the USA rights at the Bologna Book Fair in April 1997 for US$105,000, an unusually high sum for a children's book. They thought that a child would not want to read a book with the word "philosopher" in the title and, after some discussion, the American edition was published in October 1998 under the title Rowling suggested, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

So you're mad because Americans are "dumbing" down a movie. Well, why doesn't Europe remake the films... oh wait, Europeans don't know how to make film. I don't know where it goes wrong exactly, few scientist do, but somewhere between the filming or editing process you manage to insert a whole lot of suck into the film.
