If you managed to reach the edge of the universe and escape, would you be able to keep your form?, will you be still you when the laws of the universe that made you who you are no longer sustain you ?

Will you just turn into nothingness?

if you managed to reach the edge of the universe which is impossible then I imagine you'd also have a way of dealing with your issue

but it is exactly how it looks like, from our frame of reference, where the further we look, the further we see into the past

There is no 'edge' despite the universe being apparently finite, in the same sense that if you're living on the edge of a finite sphere, you can travel around it forever without reaching the end.

Or something like that, according to Hawking. Better off asking /sci/ for this.

>will you be still you

You'd also have to define what you meant by 'you' first.

Yeah, shape of the universe is still being questioned. But it seems to be a boundlessly expanding space. Look into topology for a better understanding of the proposed shapes of the universe. Boundless means there would be no edge and expanding explains the redshift.

It would be interesting if we could escape our universe, it might lead us to higher dimensions of space and shapes.

Your particles would be the new edge. Why do people think they are somehow not the universe?

You can't reach the edge of the universe.
You are part of the universe, as such it expands with you.
