Dantes Inferno, the word “fig-fuck”

Dantes Inferno, the word “fig-fuck” Anonymous Wed Jan 30 08:30:03 2019 No.12503498 [SPOILER]

So I need some closure on what this word means. I think it means the middle finger since how it was used in the sentence (a dude was cursing at god with his hands in “fig-fucks”).

I’d like some confirmation if I’m right about what it means. I came across this word in the English translations of Dante’s Inferno (great book btw, should read it if you haven’t read it).
