If life is objectively meaningless and one cannot enjoy life, is suicide the only way out? Are there any books that tackle this issue?

Albert Camus

The Foundation for Exploration by Sean Goonan explains all.

What issue? The only issue here I see is that OP is wrong.

Killing yourself is meaningless too

Yes but at least there’s some sort of pleasure out of it.

Myth of Sisyphus or The Stranger
either is good to start, but read both.

Because life is not meaningless and even if you felt it was suicide would be the worst way out unless your existence is positively insufferable.
Of course there is a difference between the meaning of life of an individual and the meaning of life-as-a-concept, but neither needs to be empty.

large numbers of people feeling their lives are meaningless tends to result in life being harder than it needs to for people who do not feel that way tho, no?

Why do you claim it to be meaningless? Look into spirituality and realize your soul's purpose in this lifetime. If you knew that you had lived before, and will again, would you still consider life so purposeless?

The Rebel is a good one.

Try distinguishing your thoughts & judgments from your objective experience of reality. Life is only meaningless if you have expectations of what that meaning might be.

You'll realize life isn't so bad - your reaction to failing at arbitrary, unrealistic goals you've created is what's bad. It's anticipation and rumination that create pain - not living.

Think less feel more

Read Emil Cioran, the only reason you have suicidal thoughts is to deter you from suicide. Read Kierkegaard's Fear and Trembling too– God doesn't really stay Abraham's hand, he simply stops himself the moment he was certain he could've gone through with it.
