I hate analytic philosophy but still want to study philosophy at my uni. The only departments that I know of that study continental philosophy are sociology and English (social and literary theory seems to dissuade analytic types for some reason)

What should I do /lit/? Am i missing something or am I doomed to study formal logic forever?

pls no bully jannies

Film, engineering, literally anything else. If art is useless, philosophy is even more useless. And analytic philosophy is autist tier. Only a real genius can make the most of it.

Study math, then you get philosophy for free but you're also useful.

It's up to you to decide. The objective truth is that academic philosophy has achieved absolutely nothing worthwhile or intelligible in well over 50 years. (Don't get at me with "philosophy led to the creation of logic and computers"—that didn't happen recently and sure as hell isn't going to happen a second time).

Academic philosophy is an utter dead end bringing no joy, meaning, or improvement to the academic's life nor to mankind.

I know academic philosophy is sorta dead (or at least extremely banal), but what else is there for me to do? Major in classics and become a personal trainer ie the BAP route?

Study STEM or learn a skill and read philosophy as a hobby. You can learn all of the same stuff without having to stress about grades and going into debt.

Major in English. If you have some connections get a cozy office job. If you are an autist try to get whatever cozy job you can get like night security and just be frugal and have fun reading. STEM isnt worth it and the age we are living in is extremely boring dont get a drone job.

Welcome to the hell of the anglosphere

Try the romance language departments, the german department, the eastern euro departments, comp lit, anthro, history, classics. You might be surprised.
