That’s literally the point of the novel if you look into the historical context. Joyce wanted everyone to be on an even playing field when reading it, like Joyce felt being forced to use the English language instead of Irish he wanted to convey the alienation from language felt by the Irish people

FW isn't that hard to read. Most of it's just written phonetically, with an irish accent like Joyce had. If you have an irishman read it out loud it starts to make more sense. Go to YouTube. If you still struggle after that you're just a brainlet and need to read more before you bother with something like Finnegans Wake.
